A BIOCIDAL AGENT FOR THE CONTROL OF BACTERIA, SLIME, FUNGI AND ALGAE
is a broad-spectrum anti-microbial agent for controlling microorganisms such as: bacteria, slime, fungi and algae. It is used in large re-circulating systems, thermal transfers or the manufacture of recycled and deinked pulp. It is known that these micro-organisms cause a number of problems, i.e. the accumulation of slime forming bacteria on surfaces, the blocking of pipe work and filters, the reduction of thermal transfer efficiency and the staining and weak spots in finished paper. Bacterial growth can break the continuity of the paper roll by stopping production and causing the paper to rewind. Certain groups of bacteria produce hydrogen sulfide (a rotten egg odour) and cause serious corrosion problems. Other types of bacteria are potentially harmful and may cause infections and disease.
